Innovative Engineering has further successfully developed its sanding prediction capability. The new methodology has been field proven using over 6 years of sand production history and resulted in an increase in hydrocarbon’s production beyond that provided by current predictive methods (CDP based). The higher production rates pose no additional risk to the integrity of the reservoir and asset. This success is the result of a 2 year effort in R & D based on the development of coupled Geomechanical-CFD models to simulate mobilisation of failed material from the near wellbore. Mobilisation of sand particles from the near wellbore can now be identified in terms of location, orientation, rates and volumes in time for different stages in a reservoir’s life.
