Innovative Engineering has technical and operational experience performing sanding/sand production prediction studies and sand control operations for our clients in the North Sea, West & Northern Africa, Paris & Aquitaine Basins and South America. This experience in different geographical regions has allowed us to work on data from different stress regimes and geological formations. We actively contribute to advancing the science of sanding prediction as a founding and continuing member of the Sand Management Network based in Aberdeen, United Kingdom. Our capability is also strengthened by the integration of well performance and production optimisation assessment of the reservoir & well in order to assist our client’s in achieving maximum hydrocarbon recovery.
For over 20 years Innovative Engineering has been supporting our clients in their well and reservoir mechanical integrity requirements, from reservoir isolation and mechanical integrity analysis to annular leakage issues in wells ensuring that drilling and completion designs are robust and provide fit for purpose wells over the life of the field. A robust abandonment approach must ensure that these risks are mitigated and that the final results assures environmental compliance and safe isolation of the reservoir and wells for the future.
Safe and environmentally compliant disposal of drill cuttings is an essential part of the well construction process. Whether the material is disposed overboard, transported for processing or re-injected in the subsurface, it needs to be carried out in a safe, cost effective manner that meet the local regulations and environmental policy.
Our team of geoscientists, geologists, reservoir and well engineers integrate pressure, flow and mechanical behaviour of the rock to realised improved reserves recovery, extending wells' and field life.
Thermal Induced Fracturing (TIF), typical of injection projects offers a number of benefits such as overcoming the damaged zone, increasing permeability at the wellbore and lowering equipment foot-print at surface. Innovative Engineering carried out engineering and supervision for 4 TIF projects for North Sea customers. Engineering models have been developed to determine the temperature front during injection; equipment requirements and estimation of expected performance are also determined for both conventional injection wells and for PWRI projects.
With experiences gained from design (lower completion and well performance), thermal induced fracturing design & implementation and performance management of injector wells for a North Sea client for over 9 years, we have developed the capability to minimize loss of injectivity over the life of a well through our tailor made approach and the strength of science.

Many events that affect performance of a reservoir are associated to its deformation as a result of depletion, overpressure and regional tectonics. Changes in permeability due to stress, limited deliverability resulting in poor reserves recovery is associated to mechanical performance of the rock. Our Reservoir Mechanical Performance™ process is an integral component of reservoir management that when integrated with traditional pressure and flow considerations lead to enhanced management and field economics.

Rock and Fluids Testing
Lack of or limited data availability is a common constraint in the efforts to characterise reservoir rock, fluids and well performance. Testing of rock and fluid samples is an integral part of the characterization processes that allow accurate determination of formation properties, reservoir modelling and production performance predictions. Our Rock Testing service improves the process, quality and quantity of data gathered. We have also innovated in the preparation of the rock samples and the measurements such that many of the tests can be done, for instance, without transporting or damaging cores.
